Compensation Range: Between $113,000 - $163,000 CDN annually
Participate in the validation of aeronautical structures for both commercial projects (new product development, missionization, systems integration) and military projects (maintaining operational availability, repairs, compliance with airworthiness requirements). Provide technical leadership and manage tasks related to the analysis and validation of aeronautical structures. The incumbent will work closely with other engineering teams, program managers, and customers (internal and external) to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and cost requirements.
Essential Functions:
• Lead static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analyses on aircraft components using classical and finite element methods
• Validate mechanical designs in collaboration with design and manufacturing teams
• Approve analysis reports and technical assumptions
• Plan, prioritize, and monitor progress of analysis tasks
• Mentor junior analysts, share best practices and technical knowledge, and support skill development
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and program requirements
• Participate in feasibility studies and technical proposals for civilian and military customers
• Collaborate with fleet management teams to plan interventions and ensure operational availability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant aerospace experience
- In-depth knowledge of structural analysis of metallic and composite materials
- Proficiency in one or more of the following software: NASTRAN, PATRAN, or other finite element tools, plus WORD and EXCEL
- Knowledge of MATLAB, VBA, and Python is an asset
- Bilingualism required (French and English), with ability to write technical reports in English
- Ability to work effectively in teams and multidisciplinary group.
- Strong task prioritization in high-pressure environments and adherence to tight deadlines
- Analytical mindset, resourcefulness, and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Technical leadership and ability to mentor less experienced engineers, while promoting knowledge sharing and skill development
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
