Title:  Lead, System Administration

About your next challenge as Lead, System Administrator :

The Lead System Administrator is responsible for the integration, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrading, enhancement, and maintenance of the enterprise computer systems.

 

What you will do:

  • Administration of virtual desktop environments (Horizon VDI);
  • Management, installation, configuration, monitoring, and upgrade of Microsoft Server and Microsoft Workstations and Linux servers;
  • Management and configuration of the VMware Cloud Foundation (vSAN, vSphere, etc.);
  • Management of Dell server hardware and storage;
  • Participation and execution of corporate projects deployed across the company;
  • Planning and coordination of projects or changes to computer systems with various stakeholders (internal or external) and impacted departments;
  • Contribution to the disaster recovery plan (DRP) and IT security;
  • Configuration of the Veeam data backup system;
  • Keep current with changing technologies.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Collegial Degree (DEC) or Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in information technology and in systems administration;
  • Bilingualism required (French / English);
  • Passionate about computing with excellent learning and adaptability capacity, autonomous and resourceful, oriented on result, efficient and meticulous;
  • Ability to manage and deliver projects through daily operations;
  • Ability to develop and apply new approaches and work methodologies;
  • Team player, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and communication proficiency. In addition to creating/updating documentation and stakeholder interaction;
  • Methodical management and planning of changes and projects;
  • Knowledge of the aeronautics domain, an asset.

Technical Knowledge or Experience Required:

  • Extensive Expertise of Linux systems;
  • In depth knowledge of the VMware virtualization layer (vSAN, vSphere, vCenter, etc.);
  • Management of Dell infrastructures (PowerEdge, OpenManage, iDrac, PowerVault, etc.);
  • Management of Virtual Desktop Environments (VDI) under VMware Horizon and RDS;
  • Management of Microsoft servers and services (Active Directory, Windows Server, Remote Desktop Service (RDS), GPO, DFS, DNS, DHCP, security certificates, etc.);
  • Strong proficiency in Veeam backup technology;
  • General knowledge in networks and telecommunications (VLAN, VxLAN, etc.);

Additional Technical Knowledge or Experience Considered as Assets:

  • Systems administration in IBM PowerVM / IBM AIX / Unix environment;
  • Management of Atlassian Jira / Confluence servers;
  • Dassault 3Dexperience / Enovia / CATIA environment ;
  • Administration of engineering, machining, and software development systems and software;
  • Management of Dell Wyse thin client environments (Wyse Management Suite, ThinClient, etc.);
  • Administration of Nutanix and Nutanix Prism;
  • Experience with high-availability architecture (clusters, replication strategies);
  • Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for system efficiency.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
