Title:  Specialist Production Planning

Job Description:

Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements. Works from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers. Ensures availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Works to achieve operational targets with moderate impact on departmental results. Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Exerts some influence on the overall objectives of the project.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Working under general supervision, the successful candidate will work in a dynamic, highly engineered product environment with changing requirements and schedules, and be able to effectively interface with all levels of personnel, and can plan, organize, and track work assignments.
  • Use internal ERP system (Oracle) to plan and execute material readiness for program schedules.
  • Analyze program manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) and schedules for the manufacturing, assembly, and test of hardware.
  • Maintain and generate Program Planning Requirements, release supplier requisitions and shop orders for both MBOM and independent demand requirements. This also includes the identification of supply chain shortages to ensure velocity is maintained during the fabrication, assembly, and test cycle. Identify and initiate Program Inventory Surplus/Close Out.
  • Track both raw materials and finished parts through shop areas.
  • Coordinate with other organizations as needed to ensure that schedule commitments are being met.
  • Interface with Program in support of the Integrated Production Schedule to resolve conflicts with other programs. If schedule is impacted, will be able to understand and communicate what is needed from the team to get back on track.
  • Identify and communicate concerns and issues with potential scheduling impacts. Use historical and forecast data, with the goal of helping program teams reach optimum solutions to issues/concerns involving internal and external customer requirements. Make recommendations to your team on how schedules can be minimally impacted.
  • Interface with Procurement and Engineering to ensure material readiness.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in configuration control boards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Must understand ERP Manufacturing Planning Systems, ideally Costpoint.
  • Experience and understanding of requirements in the requisitioning, purchasing, stocking, control and issuance of inventory.
  • Capable of generating moderately complex spreadsheets and reports utilizing: Microsoft Excel (pivot tables) and Microsoft Word.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $68,500-127,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
