Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Specialist – Business Analyst to join our Software Asset Management (SAM) team. This role will be responsible for leading SAM processes, ensuring data integrity, and driving operational excellence across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of SAM practices, and experience working with enterprise SAM tools.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and optimize SAM processes to ensure compliance, cost efficiency, and accurate software license management.
  • Maintain data integrity across SAM systems and related platforms.
  • Serve as a liaison between SAM, IT, Procurement, and Finance teams to align software asset strategies with business objectives.
  • Lead projects to improve SAM tooling and processes, such as:
  • Ensure entitlement and license restriction data is accurate and maintained across all systems.
  • Drive initiatives to improve software usage data accuracy for optimization and compliance.
  • Support data gathering and discovery activities for M&A projects, ensuring SAM considerations are integrated early in the process.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within SAM workflows.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field and a minimum of 6 years experience in IT Asset Management or Software Asset Management. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years in IT Asset Management or Software Asset Management. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SAM principles, licensing models, and compliance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro, Ariba, Snow, and other SAM tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • ITIL or SAM-related certifications (e.g., CSAM, ITAM).
  • Experience with cloud licensing models (Azure, AWS, SaaS).
  • Familiarity with financial and procurement systems (Ariba).

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $96,000-$178,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $84,000-$156,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
