Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Sr. Specialist, DevOps Systems Administrator to support and evolve enterprise build and deployment services across multiple teams and environments. This role will be responsible for owning and supporting build pipelines, deployment automation, source control workflows, and environment management, with a primary focus on Git, Jenkins, and Windows-based application environments, while also supporting Linux systems as needed.
This position is critical to both ongoing operational support and long-term strategic initiatives. The selected candidate will play a key role in advancing enterprise DevOps services, while helping drive pipeline automation, standardization, consolidation, CI/CD scaling, compliance readiness, security hardening, and delivery process maturity.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional who can work independently, partner effectively with developers and infrastructure teams, and improve the reliability, repeatability, and operational stability of fast-moving software delivery processes.
Essential Functions:
- Own, administer, and support enterprise build and deployment pipelines for internal applications and shared services.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD workflows using Git and Jenkins.
- Support source control administration, repository management, branching strategies, and developer workflows.
- Administer and support Windows Server-based application environments and assist with Linux system administration as needed.
- Manage environment configuration to ensure systems are stable, secure, repeatable, and operationally reliable.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to builds, deployments, releases, server configuration, and application hosting environments.
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation to improve deployment consistency, administrative efficiency, and platform reliability.
- Support common web and application hosting infrastructure needs, including:o DNS configuration and maintenance
o SSL/TLS certificate installation and renewal
o Web server configuration and support, including IIS or similar platforms
o Domain renewals and administration
o Firewall rule coordination
o Basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting - Partner with software development, IT, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to support reliable software delivery and operational continuity.
- Contribute to pipeline automation, standardization, and consolidation initiatives across the enterprise.
- Support evaluation, planning, and implementation activities related to Atlassian tool migrations.
- Assist with scaling CI/CD shared services to meet growing enterprise demand.
- Support compliance, audit readiness, and security hardening efforts within DevOps and hosting environments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, standards, and operational support materials.
- Identify opportunities to improve process maturity, delivery consistency, and service reliability across multi-year strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with Git-based source control systems and associated workflows.
- Experience administering and supporting Jenkins pipelines and deployment automation.
- Experience with Windows Server administration in support of application environments.
- Basic experience with Linux system administration.
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar tools.
- Experience supporting web or application infrastructure components such as DNS, SSL/TLS, web servers, and firewall coordination.
- Experience troubleshooting build failures, deployment issues, environment instability, and release-related problems.
- Knowledge of system security practices, patching, access control, and operational hardening.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical teams.
- Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, or Bamboo.
- Experience with Atlassian migration efforts.
- Experience with IIS, Apache, or similar web server technologies.
- Experience with certificate lifecycle management, domain administration, and hosted application support.
- Experience supporting hybrid environments across on-premises and cloud-hosted systems.
- Familiarity with artifact repositories, release governance, and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience supporting organizations with compliance, audit, or regulated environment requirements.
- Experience improving enterprise DevOps maturity through standardization, automation, and shared services support.
- Experience with agentic automation and workflows.
