Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Ansible engineer to administer and collaborate on infrastructure automation. This role will support Ansible and automation tools in effort to further integrate automation in both Linux deployments and across platforms.
In this role, you will support container-based Ansible Automation Platform, and craft Ansible playbooks and roles that support and improve processes for multiple infrastructures.
This position requires an intermediate-level expertise in Ansible tools, a passion for automation and process improvement, and an understanding of continuous improvement through Lean principles. You will work with other teams to assist in automating their tasks with Ansible, including system provisioning and configuration management.
Essential Functions:
- Support Ansible Automation Platform, Private Automation Hub, Event-Driven Ansible tools, and mesh/high availability technologies.
- Support a dynamic Ansible inventory.
- Troubleshooting Ansible platform and execution issues.
- Administer Ansible Automation Platform RBACs through AAP organizations and SSO-integrated user accounts.
- Support and enhance existing Ansible playbooks and roles, as well as develop new content to address requirements that arise.
- Administration of Linux servers hosting Ansible automation tools, including regular patching and compliance auditing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of degree, minimum 6 years of prior related experience.
- 2+ years of Ansible Experience, including developing playbooks and roles.
- 3+ years of operating system administration, preferably with Enterprise Linux distributions.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
- Experience in one or more of the following tools and technologies:
- Container management using Podman or Docker
- SCM using Git
- Jinja2 Templating
- Experience with Ubuntu Linux is a plus.
- Familiarity with Python coding and scripting is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement innovative solutions to resolve technical challenges.
- Red Hat certifications in Enterprise Linux, container management, and/or Ansible automation are a plus.
- Experience with configuration management via automation.
- Proven expertise in one or more scripting language.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $75,000-$139,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $65,500-$121,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
