Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Project Engineer supporting innovative network solutions in Managed Services. The role may support dometic and/or international resiliant network solutions for ANSP customers. The Project Engineer role involves performing and/or coordinating program tasks in conjunction with program management and meeting customer deliverables.


Essential Functions: 

  • Responsible for full lifecycle Project Engineering support for a range of systems integration efforts utilizing Agile Methodologies and tools.
  • Responsible for successfully leading a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in the business area.
  • Responsible for developing resource plans and programs for area of responsibility to ensure strategic objectives are achieved. Develops, oversees, and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
  • Serve as an external and internal expert and thought leader with deep technical expertise regarding Managed Services and delivery of resiliant networking solutions.
  • Establishes overall direction for new processes, systems, and solutions. Recommends and implements strategies and develops operational plans/goals with direct impact to the achievement against functional strategies.
  • Regularly interface with all levels of engineering, operations, and management to establish, measure, and report performance metrics
  • Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
  • Technical background of telecommunications network design, development, operations, integration, and test.
  • Experience leading Managed Services projects delivering resiliant telecommunication networks
  • Experience with Earned Value Management and Microsoft Project
  • Experience with best practices for project engineering and program execution
  • Experience in managing multi-discipline programs across multiple locations
  • Experience with managing execution of hardware/software development programs and/or integration programs
     

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with DOORS requirements management software.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Knowledge of FTI Telecommunications network installation, configuration and testing standards
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) experience a plus
  • Clearance if desired
