In this role, you will play a crucial part in evaluating, planning, and implementing cutting-edge telecommunications network designs tailored to FAA mission-critical needs. You will be at the forefront of replacing legacy copper-based systems with advanced technologies, creating scalable and optimized telco architectures, and documenting solutions that support engineering and NOC operations. Collaborate with internal and external teams, work independently on high-impact projects, and lead proof-of-concept efforts for emerging services.

Essential Functions:
- Assess telecommunications technologies and design solutions to ensure alignment with the FAA/FTI network’s critical infrastructure and service requirements.
- Architect and engineer next-generation telco services to replace legacy copper-based solutions with modern, scalable alternatives.
- Deliver tailored network implementations that meet dynamic customer requirements and long-term strategic objectives.
- Establish and apply best practices in network design, capacity planning, and service continuity to support mission-critical operations.
- Oversee the telco design release lifecycle to ensure timely execution and alignment with program milestones.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- WAN Telecommunications networking experience.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
- Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and support Ethernet and TDM network infrastructures.
- Knowledge of telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processes.
- Experience with database modeling software such as MetaSolv.
