Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Network Planning Engineer to support the FAA/FTI program.   As a CPE Engineer at L3Harris, you will play a key role in supporting innovative network solutions. You will work on multiple programs and initiatives, collaborating with internal and external teams to plan and design customer premise equipment for the Telecommunication Infrastructure Replacement (TIR) project. Your efforts will ensure the successful implementation of equipment and services deliverables for the FTI Network.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop comprehensive plans and designs for customer premise equipment to support the RTIR project.
  • Manage the CPE design release and implementation schedule for over one thousand sites, ensuring timely execution.
  • Interface and coordinate with implementation engineering groups to meet project requirements and delivery dates.
  • Maintain the operational excellence of network systems and components during project execution.
  • Monitor equipment and material inventory availability, providing accurate forecasting for purchase planning.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and network optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, technical procedures, and telecommunications industry standards, including CISCO routers and IP technologies.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with network vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Fujitsu, Ciena, RAD).
  • Familiarity with database modeling software (MetaSolv) and tools like AutoCAD, DICE, PDM, ClearQuest.
  • CCNA Certification or equivalent Cisco equipment work experience.
