Job Description:
Position is for a Specialist, IT Security working under supervision to manage data security solutions, including implementing and maintaining data access controls, data governance and analyzing data access permissions, as well as ensuring data protection and compliance with L3H policy. Work to identify and resolve data-related security issues. Act as team member for rollout and maintenance of Varonis application used to perform automated access requests in the L3Harris multi-domain, multi-national organization. Perform other IT duties as required.
Essential Functions:
- Data Access Control and Auditing: Manage user data access permissions, data access requests, and implement data hardening technologies.
- Data Security Implementation: Work as part of a team implementing and maintaining Varonis platforms to audit and protect unstructured data (user data) and Active Directory/NTFS permissions.
- Security Issue Resolution: Identify, research, and remediate technical issues related to data security, ensuring data protection from threats and policy violations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Apply knowledge of ITAR, PII, GDPR, CUI, and international privacy regulations to ensure compliance.
- Technical Expertise: Act as a Varonis technical expert, providing guidance and support to other teams.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as security and compliance, to ensure data security policies are effectively implemented.
- Problem-Solving: Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex data security issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, enterprise IT, cloud, and security technologies.
- Familiarity with data security and governance principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex data security issues.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, with a focus on building relationships and ensuring internal customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliances like ITAR, PII, GDPR, and CUI
- PowerShell or other scripting proficiency
