Job Description:

 

 

L3Harris is a key provider of the Geostationary Ground Sustainment Services that enable our nation’s weather capabilities. As a ground systems engineer, you’ll lead and coordinate critical deployment and integration activities, ensuring seamless integration, testing, and verification of ground infrastructure. As the Deputy Integration Test Checkout Lead, you will provide timely updates to customers, coordinate and deconflict deployments across the enterprise, and generate and maintain detailed deployment schedules. The successful candidate will also support the Enterprise Infrastructure Chief Software Engineer, preparing, creating, and reviewing build and patch deployment documentation, and communicating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure tracking documentation is updated and due dates are met.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

 

  • Developing and managing Detailed Deployment Schedule (DDS) activities to ensure on-time and efficient deployment processes
  • Coordinate and de-conflict deployment activities
  • Develop detailed test plans, descriptions, and procedures
  • Attend and facilitate weekly Integration Test Checkout meetings, prepare meeting agendas, and generate associated reports
  • Create the customer Operational Configuration Control Record (OCCR), link baseline Patch Work Requests (WRs) and Program Tracking Reports (PTRs) to the newly created OCCR and notify the SMEs the OCCR is open
  • Generate PTR reports per baseline, maintain PTRs status, and due dates
  • Review all baseline PTR tabs to ensure required information is entered 
  • Monitor PTR hours compared to PTR Status report to ensure hours are accurate
  • Ensure all the baseline deliverable documentation is received from each SME and review for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program standards, resulting in documentation that is ready for delivery to facilitate a smooth deployment

 

 

Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Ability to communicate within and outside of the organization using collaboration tools, presentations, written reports, and in-person meetings including with customers and vendors
  • Candidate must be fluent in using Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Able to multitask and proactively understand the Detailed Deployment Schedule (DDS)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and OneNote for effective data management and document preparation
  • Experienced with IBM ClearQuest for tracking and managing PTRs and OCCRs
