Job Overview:

L3Harris is currently seeking a Senior Specialist in Software Configuration Management to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for leading and maintaining software configuration management processes that ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and contractual obligations. The position supports software configuration identification, build and release management, configuration audits, and engineering execution across complex development efforts. This role operates with greater independence and is expected to provide guidance, coordination, and process improvement support across cross-functional teams. This position is located in Melbourne, FL: L3Harris in Florida 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead control and traceability of software products, baselines, and associated configuration items across the software development lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with program requirements.
• Manage and oversee the release process for software builds, patches, and updates, including build verification, baseline control, archival, distribution, and delivery readiness.
• Coordinate and support software configuration control board meetings, including agenda development, change tracking, action item management, and follow-through to ensure timely implementation of approved changes.
• Plan and perform software configuration audits and support customer deliveries by generating, validating, archiving, and distributing software media and related release documentation in accordance with contractual requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Active TS/SCI required; polygraph preferred; willingness to submit to a polygraph required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge of software configuration management principles and practices, including configuration identification, change control, status accounting, release management, and audit support.
• Experience supporting Agile software development environments and fast-paced continuous integration and continuous development workflows.
• Strong ability to create, manage, archive, and maintain software builds and releases while coordinating effectively with software engineering, systems engineering, quality, and program teams.
• Experience with version control, defect management, and collaboration tools such as IBM Rational ClearQuest, ClearCase, Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence.
