Job Description:

The role of the IT sector/segment Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is to act as the strategic interface between the IT organization and the businesses within L3Harris’ segments. This individual is responsible for fostering deep connections with senior sector/segment leadership teams, including sector Presidents and functional Vice Presidents, as well as with leadership within the IT Function to swiftly identify and resolve opportunities and issues.  Versatility and leadership are essential in this role, as the incumbent will frequently address new and challenging problems, requiring a proactive and adaptable approach to develop effective solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with Sector/Segment and IT service and sub-service owners to understand strategic plans and identify areas impacting the business and IT.
  • Providing highly valued strategic consulting support and guidance through key IT initiatives.
  • Support the upcoming IPO for the Mission Solutions (MSL) Segment ensuring MSL’s requirements and business needs are established, and IT policies and technical best practices are adhered to. 
  • Communicating decisions, priorities, and relevant project information to cross-functional staff at various levels concerning business unit requests, projects, and initiatives.
  • Proactively sharing knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantages and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business units.
  • Coach business functional areas leaders and enable them to articulate the technological needs and requirements in their function that will advance business performance.
  • Ensure that MSL’s Segment strategy and key performance indicators are identified and leveraged for effective IT demand shaping.
  • Partner with business and IT leaders to evaluate proposals, build business cases, plan new joint initiatives, and determine how they fit into business capability roadmaps and priorities.
  • Confirm delivery of new technology solutions and capabilities in accordance with roadmaps, ensuring they meet established objectives and expectations of business partners.
  • Share ownership of the business value results of technology related projects; measure and communicate business value results on a regular basis.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in value optimization, IT performance, and business processes where applicable.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience. 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Current/active TS/SCI security clearance or the ability to obtain
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Possess strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Project Management certifications or relevant experience.
  • Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira).
  • Demonstrated executive presence to effectively collaborate with leaders at every level.
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry preferred.
  • Cross-functional IT knowledge and experience (infrastructure, applications, security, etc.).
  • Self-directed, versatile, and able to prioritize multiple competing priorities and deliverables.
  • Exceptional skills in written and verbal communication, mentorship, and leadership.
