Job Description:

The ERP Data Migration workstream lead will be responsible for supporting data migration efforts for a multi-year large SAP ERP integration project.  Responsibilities include:  defining the ERP data migration strategy, working closely with stakeholders, program management and system integrator resources to define requirements to extract, cleanse, transform, enrich, load and validate all required data for the successful implementation and operation of the SAP ERP system.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for creating a project plan of all activities and tasks required to support data migration plan for large ERP integration project.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting progress on data migration tasks, including identification of schedule and data quality risks and mitigation plans.
  • Responsible for defining a data quality management plan for data migration activities, including validation tasks, and reporting of accuracy and error correction of loaded data.
  • Responsible for defining and overseeing a data migration strategy that adheres to industry best practices and ensures seamless, accurate, and efficient data transfer.Management of data extract, transformation and load activities and mock conversion events.
  • Coordination and progress monitoring of third-party data engineer tasks
  • Requires comprehensive level knowledge of ERP data migration and analysis, including the process for extract, transformation, load and validation steps required for a major ERP implementation.
  • In-depth understanding of ERP systems and their data structures. Experience with ERP modules such as finance, supply chain, and manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of data migration support for large-scale implementation projects, preferably within large ERP systems like SAP, PeopleSoft or Oracle EBS.
  • Expertise in data quality assessment, data cleansing, and data validation techniques, including a strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices to ensure the maximum efficiency and accuracy of data populated within the new SAP ERP solution
  • Strong analytical skills to identify, analyze, and resolve data migration issues. Ability to troubleshoot and optimize data migration processes.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute data migration activities within the project timeline.
  • Demonstrated technical experience, including support of management’s resource planning and task estimating, as well as mentorship of junior resources for adherence to software development and change management standards
  • Ability to create technical analysis/design documentation required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills a must. Includes the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders, including business users, IT teams, and external vendors.
  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Technical skills in SQL, ETL tools, and data modeling. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and practices.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CDMP, or ERP-specific certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate) are a plus.
  • Familiar with software development methodologies and lifecycle including change management.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and executing cutover strategies
  • Experience in evaluating, selecting, and implementing data migration tools and platforms

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in NYC areas is $119,000- $221,000. The salary range for this role in New York state is $137,000- $254,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
