Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a dynamic Business Development professional who will work effectively with senior division leadership as well as business development, technical and functional entities for the purpose of achieving segment financial goals by engaging customers, identifying potential business opportunities, and supporting corporate and segment strategic growth activities. This position will be supporting the Spectral Solutions division and will lead the division’s Enterprise Ground campaign supporting Civil, Commercial and Defense customers with emphasis on NOAA/NASA weather and environmental mission areas as well as the Department of War. 

 

 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead Spectral Solutions initiatives associated with new business growth areas
  • Serve as liaison to the segment growth initiatives representing Spectral Solutions interests
  • Help identify new markets, unmet needs and opportunities for division campaign initiation
  • Develop identified segment campaigns for opportunity generation
  • Prioritize campaign engagements leveraging Senior Management participation
  • Support the collection of competitive intelligence and information to enhance L3Harris understanding of customers and competitors’ strategies
  • Support the gathering and analysis of Government Budget data for strategic decision-making
  • Work jointly with the Corporate Government Relations team on Congressional Strategic inputs
  • Create and foster a business acumen culture which embraces a strategic, proactive approach in supporting business area leaders with identifying, actively pursuing and closing new business
  • Assist capture teams in the preparation of competitive assessments and win strategy development
  • Play an active role in at least one government or industry board with interests relative to Spectral Solutions
  • Represent L3Harris Corporation at customer meetings, Industry related meetings and conferences
  • Collaborate with remainder of BD team including marketing communications, business development leaders, and capture teams
  • Up to 30% travel to support business and customer needs
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance upon being hired

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. Engineering degree desired, but not essential.
  • 8+ years of experience engaging with senior executives at relevant government agencies, major prime contractors, small and new-space companies
  • Professional experience working direction with one or more of the following: NOAA, NASA HQ and Goddard Spaceflight Center customers particularly in the Weather, Environmental and Earth Science mission/market areas
  • Professional experience working with NOAA weather, commercial, and Defense ground processing, TT&C, and C2
  • Professional experience working Ground Entry Point and C2 capabilities for civil, commercial and national security customers
  • Prior professional business development, capture, or sales background supporting government customers

 

 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Established contacts in Department of War, U.S. Space Force and Intelligence Community ground & C2/Command and Control community
  • Experience and established contracts with relevant industry players in these markets, including network of small business set-aside contractors active with NOAA and NASA
  • Understanding and familiarity with Ground Segment market trends towards Ground Segment as a Service, cloud processing and AI/ML applications
  • Understanding and familiarity with broader civil and commercial space, weather and climate markets
  • Familiarity with current and trending technologies that underpin Ground Segment elements, such as antennas, communications, command and control, cloud computing, data processing & artificial intelligence. Familiarity with space-based hardware and interaction with ground assets is also desirable
  • Experience leading new business pursuits 
  • Ability to lead and develop relationships with geographically dispersed people
  • Demonstrated ability in competitive analysis, customer analysis, win strategy development, proposal and color team leadership and price-to win analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office tools
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance as needed

 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $146,000.00 - $271,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
