Job Description:  

This position will be responsible for providing Systems Engineering support for systems and associated subsystems across spectral programs in the Space and Airborne Systems Segment of L3Harris Technologies.

Our Spectral Systems teams serve a broad array of government, civil, and commercial customers by enhancing information superiority, contributing to our national security and providing actionable data for the protection of property and human life. We specialize in high-reliability airborne and space-based remote sensing payloads that offer active and motion imaging and data processing, exploitation and dissemination. We also provide solutions that map and monitor the earth for a variety of commercial and governmental users.

Essential Functions: 

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Cloud Architect to join our satellite ground systems development team. The Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and sustaining cloud infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud platforms, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure cloud solutions.Be the voice of the customer and support technically through the product/program full life cycle including advanced R&D, capture, proposals, design, integration & test, verification, and sustainment

  • Design and implement cloud architecture solutions that meet business requirements and align with industry best practices
  • Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to design and deploy cloud-based applications and services
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud services and technologies to improve efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness
  • Develop and implement cloud governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, capacity, and costs
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on cloud technologies and best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our cloud strategy

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 9+ years of related experience or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 7+ years of related experience. In lieu of a degree 13+ years of related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, engineering, or related roles
  • 5+ years experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
  • Professional experience utilizing containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Professional experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Extensive experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with cloud cost management and optimization
  • Familiarity with serverless computing and microservices architecture
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
