Job Description:

 

L3Harris is seeking professionals to work in a dynamic classified environment to help us provide world class cloud solutions in support of programs that are critical to our national defense. In this role candidates will architect, develop, and support AWS cloud based geospatial software processing applications. Candidates will be a part of Agile development teams and support solutions developed by L3Harris’s Space Ground Solutions (SGS) group. A combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset are crucial for success in this role.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Working under general oversight, provide solutions with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management.
  • Strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including services such as Lambda, Fargate, DynamoDB, Step Functions, EC2, S3, AMI's, and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs).
  • Strong Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IAC) using Ansible and/or Puppet.
  • Design, develop, and test software applications for large-scale operational systems.
  • Responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area.
  • Work consists of making moderate to substantial improvement or enhancements to systems and processes to improve performance of job area.
  • Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization.
  • Work with DevOps team to design and deploy Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines in hybrid virtual machine and Kubernetes environments.
  • Deliver automation to provision and deploy complex systems in commercial and private clouds.
  • Utilize software languages such as Python, Ruby and Groovy to accomplish automation customization.
  • Utilize mixture of Windows and Linux environments.
  • Document operations and maintenance activities.

Qualifications: 

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of software experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of software experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of software experience.
  • 5 years experience of Amazon Web Services (AWS) including basic services such as EC2, S3, AMI's, and VPCs.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IAC) using Ansible and/or Puppet.
  • Experience using open-source container platforms such Kubernetes/Docker, or Others.
  • Experience scripting in PowerShell or Python to perform common tasks that aid in building of automation.
  • Experience with Agile software development and the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience utilizing team collaboration tools (Confluence, Jira, Git).
  • Experience developing and deploying software using a CI/CD pipeline.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Amazon Web Services Certification.
  • CompTIA Security+ or better certification.
  • Experience working in Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience working with an Agile software development team with regular release cycles.
  • Familiarity with creating CI/CD process flows such as Jenkins or Gitlab-CI Pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Platform One tools (Jira, Mattermost, Confluence, GitLab, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Experience in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Florida and New York State is $115,000 - $213,000. For Virginia, the salary range for this role is $132,000 - $245,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
