Job Description:
The AI Lead is responsible for implementing enterprise security strategy, architecture, and governance for AI, and cloud workloads. Reporting within the CISO organization, this role focuses on secure-by-design architecture, enterprise guardrails, risk-informed adoption strategies, and security integration of modern platforms.
This role partners closely with Security Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Data/AI teams to establish secure, scalable, and reusable solutions that enable rapid, secure, and compliant adoption of AI capabilities across the enterprise. The role focuses on ensuring best-practice cybersecurity and governance foundations are followed for all AI workloads.
Essential Functions:
AI Security, Governance & Architecture:
- Implement enterprise AI security and governance frameworks covering model lifecycle, data boundaries, and risk controls.
- Manage AI security services and policies within platforms like Microsoft Agent 365, Defender, Purview DLP, CoPilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry and AWS Bedrock.
- Advise leadership on emerging AI technologies, associated risks, and secure platform adoption strategies.
- Review security and governance best-practices and ensure they are implemented across AI workloads
- Review of service principles and conditional-access settings to ensure least-privilege to resources and zero-trust access across AI workloads.
Collaboration
- Work closely with stakeholders inside of IT and within other business functions to enforce the organizational security strategy.
- Translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Contribute to security standards, architectural guidance and policy improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior Palantir experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior Palantir experience In lieu of degree, minimum 13 years of prior Palantir experience.
- 4-6 years’ experience in cloud / security engineering, including 2+ years hands-on with Microsoft 365 / Azure or AWS.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Hands-on experience with O365 and Azure GCCH Government clouds
- Any Microsoft, Cyber Security or AI related certifications are a plus. Examples include:
- Microsoft: MS: SC-200 (Security Operations), MS SC-300 (Identity), MS 102 (M365 Admin) or AZ 104 (Azure Admin), SC 100 (Microsoft Cyber Security Architect), AI-102 (Microsoft Azure AI Engineer)
- CISSP, or others from ISC2
- OSCP, other Offensive Security certifications
- GIAC / SANs certifications
- Experience with governance frameworks such as NIST 800-53, 800-171, CMMC, and ISO 27001.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $127,500-$236,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $110,500-$205,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
