Job Description

The Lead Integration Engineer will lead the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise integrations for the Enterprise Strategy and Services Value Optimization team. This hands-on technical role is responsible for building secure, reliable, and maintainable integrations that connect enterprise applications, services, workflows, and data across a growing technology environment.

This individual will provide technical leadership while working closely with developers, architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and governance teams. The Lead Integration Engineer will translate business and technical requirements into effective integration designs and production-ready solutions using C# and .NET technologies.

The role is expected to shape how integrations are designed and delivered, including API and service development, messaging patterns, system interoperability, security, resiliency, observability, automated testing, deployment readiness, and technical documentation. The Lead Integration Engineer will also establish reusable patterns and engineering practices that enable integration capabilities to scale while remaining supportable and aligned with enterprise standards.

Essential Functions

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise integrations using C# and .NET technologies.
  • Build and maintain REST APIs, services, messaging-based integrations, and application workflows.
  • Translate business, functional, and technical requirements into integration designs with clear interfaces, data flows, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
  • Define and apply reusable integration patterns, development standards, interface contracts, and technical documentation practices.
  • Design integrations for security, reliability, resiliency, performance, observability, and maintainability.
  • Implement appropriate authentication, authorization, validation, error handling, retry, reconciliation, and exception-management capabilities.
  • Develop automated unit, integration, and contract tests to validate integration behavior and prevent regressions.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex integration issues across applications, services, interfaces, and operational environments.
  • Partner with developers, architects, product owners, business leads, operations teams, and governance stakeholders to deliver production-ready integration solutions.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, mentoring, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 9 years of experience developing and integrating complex enterprise systems; or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Strong hands-on software development experience using C# and .NET.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise APIs and system integrations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of RESTful services, messaging patterns, interface contracts, and application interoperability.
  • Experience designing secure, resilient, observable, and maintainable production integrations.
  • Experience with automated unit, integration, and contract testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues spanning multiple applications, services, and technical teams.
  • Experience working closely with developers, architects, product leaders, operations teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, bring structure to ambiguous environments, and drive alignment without direct authority.
  • Experience with Agentic AI or agentic software development, including integrating AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise applications and workflows.
  • Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or product operating models in enterprise environments.
  • Experience establishing reusable integration patterns, engineering standards, and technical governance for new or scaling teams.
  • Knowledge of asynchronous messaging, event-driven integration, workflow orchestration, and distributed system design.
  • Experience with automated build, test, and deployment practices.
  • Ability to define useful engineering and operational measures for integration reliability, performance, and supportability.
