Job Description:  

L3Harris is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the labs for multiple Mission Networks programs. The Engineering Technician will provide technical lab support and ensure compliance to the defined standards. Provides updated status to programs related to lab utilization and maintenance. Maintains and updates records in tracking databases and alerts management to emerging trends in incidents, problems, or issues. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Diagnose hardware issues on enterprise servers, disk arrays, monitors, and computers
  • Troubleshoot failures using multiple OS platforms to include Windows, Linux, and Unix
  • Configure desktops, servers, and various hardware for asset deployment
  • Perform software builds on multiple baselines by following detailed procedures
  • Maintain an active record of troubleshooting and repairs using a ticket system
  • Diagnose, refurbish, and test hardware received from the field and lab
  • Gather, analyze, and report failure data trends and inventory levels
  • Inform and interact with the engineering team to recommend solutions to problems
  • Package, handle, and arrange transportation for incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Track and follow-up on outstanding equipment returns
  • Transport equipment between lab, warehouse, and repair facility
  • Manage and safeguard assets to include government-furnished property
  • Process new hardware by tagging and capturing asset information into a database
  • Perform audits of hardware and reconcile asset databases
  • Provide guidance to on-site technicians during quarterly preventative maintenance
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with established procedures
  • Work requires independent action to resolve issues

Qualifications: 

  • Public Trust Clearance
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience providing support to DoD/FAA customers
  • Candidate needs strong Office tool skills along with a broad instrumentation hardware and software knowledge.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, repair depot, or integration environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks
