Job Description:

The HR Director serves as the senior HR leader for one or more enterprise functions, partnering directly with the company’s senior functional executives to shape and execute talent strategies that enable business performance, operational excellence, and long-term growth.

This role aligns talent, organizational design, and culture with functional and enterprise priorities, directly shaping the effectiveness of enterprise functions by ensuring the right leadership, capability, and structures are in place to deliver on critical business priorities in a matrixed, highly regulated, and mission-driven environment. The HR Director translates strategy into practical, scalable solutions while driving alignment across the broader HR organization.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary HR partner to enterprise senior functional leaders providing strategic counsel on all aspects of talent and organization
  • Influence functional strategy through a people and talent lens, including workforce capability, organizational structure, and leadership effectiveness
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering candid, data-informed perspectives to senior executives
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated HR strategies for assigned functions, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities
  • Translate business and functional objectives into actionable talent, culture, and organizational plans
  • Partner across HR to deliver coordinated, high-impact solutions tailored to functional needs
  • Lead succession planning and leadership development for critical functional roles and bench strength
  • Lead organizational design efforts within functions to improve effectiveness, scalability, and accountability
  • Diagnose organizational challenges and implement solutions that enhance performance and cross-functional collaboration
  • Support integration of new programs, acquisitions, or structural changes impacting the function
  • Shape a high-performance culture aligned with safety, quality, and mission delivery
  • Leverage engagement and workforce insights to influence leadership actions and improve employee experience
  • Promote inclusive leadership practices that strengthen innovation and team effectiveness
  • Lead complex change initiatives within functions, including program transitions, restructures, and transformation efforts
  • Equip functional leaders to lead effectively through ambiguity and change in regulated environments
  • Ensure alignment of change efforts across functions and with enterprise priorities
  • Collaborate closely with HR Centers of Excellence and HR Operations to deliver consistent, high-quality HR support
  • Lead cross-functional HR initiatives and drive alignment across the HR organization
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes, tools, and operating models

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 15 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense, manufacturing, engineering, or other highly regulated industries preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior-most leaders and drive enterprise-level outcomes
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect talent strategies to functional and financial performance
  • Agile and resilient, able to manage shifting priorities and thrive in dynamic, ambiguous environments
  • Experience operating effectively in complex, matrixed organizations
  • Advanced degree (MBA or master’s) preferred
  • Proven expertise across core HR disciplines, including talent management, organizational design, workforce planning, and employee relations
  • Experience supporting enterprise functions (e.g., Finance, Engineering, Operations) at scale
  • Strong analytical mindset; ability to leverage workforce data and tools to generate insights and influence executive decision-making
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale change and transformation initiatives
  • Ability to coach and challenge senior leaders with credibility, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented approach
  • Experience navigating compliance-heavy environments (e.g., government contracting, security requirements, labor relations where applicable)
  • Track record of building organizational capability and strengthening leadership effectiveness
