Job Description:
Operate assigned Company aircraft as scheduled with safety and efficiency. Pilots are responsible for planning all aspects of assigned trips, including flight plan routing, strategic fuel planning, monitoring of potential trip impacts (Notams & TFR’s) and other applicable factors. Coordinate with the Flight Services Administrator on airfield selection and suitability, passenger service items, catering, crew hotel and transportation arrangements. Maintain the highest level of proficiency in assigned aircraft, to include the independent study of manuals and regulations. Attend bi-annual simulator training sessions and successfully complete FAA Pilot-in-Command evaluations.
Additionally:
- Maintain complete knowledge of aircraft systems, limitations, and normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures. Maintain full knowledge of all regulations and procedures that apply to the operation of assigned aircraft.
- On trips designated as Captain, accept full responsibility and accountability for the safety of the aircraft, passengers, crew, and completion of the mission.
- Coordinate with the maintenance crew to ensure the aircraft is airworthy and all non-deferred write-ups are cleared prior to flight or MEL procedures are followed.
- Brief passengers on trip details including emergency procedures, location of emergency equipment, time enroute, weather, and any anticipated delays. Complete Cabin Emergency Training and be willing to assist passengers if required.
- Complete an electronic post flight log.
- Advise the L3Harris Technologies Director of Flight and maintenance crew of aircraft status at the completion of the day’s flying or anytime aircraft is grounded.
- Delegate to the Second-in-Command any duties necessary to provide for the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the flight.
- Make any decisions necessary to initiate delay or cancel flights when operating conditions warrant and ensure passengers are notified. Be proactive if forecast weather or other delays may impact the schedule and consult with operations on contingency plans and passenger notification.
- Perform post-flight inspection and reset cabin condition and stock for next trip
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by Chief Pilot
- Able to communicate effectively in verbal and written English
Qualifications:
- Relevant corporate flight experience
- At least 4,000 total flight hours with a minimum of 500 hours as Pilot-in-Command and 1,000 hours of fixed wing multi-engine turbine time
- Clean flight record
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Multi-engine Land)
- Maintain FAA first class medical certification (6 months), and pilot logbook as prescribed in FAA and company regulations
- Valid U.S. Passport and ability to perform international flights without restrictions
- Reside within one hour’s drive of Melbourne-Orlando Int’l Airport (MLB) in normal traffic
- Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) for corporate aviation
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Falcon DA-EASY and/or DA-2EASY type ratings with 500 hours PIC
- Bachelor’s or higher degree
- International experience a strong plus
- Demonstrated ability to learn and to evaluate, share and accept new ideas
- Even keeled temperament
- Strong communication skills with proven ability to interface with executive leadership
- A self-starter with a demonstrated aptitude for growth and a desire for development
- Willing to travel on short notice with changing schedules, overnight, weekend, and holiday travel
