Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Network Planning Engineer supporting FAA/FTI program. As a Network Planning Engineer, candidate will support design, implementation, and optimization of communication network solutions. The candidate will collaborate with internal and external teams, and work independently on special projects, including developing network designs based upon emerging customer requirements. Other tasks include negotiating commercial vendor products, developing procedures for implementing new network designs and managing small to large network projects.


Essential Functions: 

  • Primary POC for Vendor engagement on FTI Order Management to include both phone and email requests.
  • Weekly Vendor PON Status Review meetings with the Vendor Account team.
  • Weekly DICE PON updates.
  • Site Access coordination with the vendor field teams and the FAA.
  • Update DICE with circuit completion data (ckt, xref, completion date).
  • Weekly data integrity report analysis.
  • Monthly Telco Metric Email to Vendors.
  • Processing of disconnects in DICE and Metasolv.
  • Work with DHS ( Department Homeland Security) weekly to generate new TSP codes for the FAA.
  • Updating DICE order PONS with SUPP information needed for the Vendor processing ( MRC, address, etc).
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related field) and a minimum of 0-2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • 2 years of prior WAN telecommunications network experience
  • MEF 2.0 certification and/or equivalent level experience preferred

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • CCNA Certification or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications.
