Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Network Engineer to support innovative network solutions. The selected candidate will be working on multiple programs and initiatives for L3Harris as the primary contractor. The selected candidate will collaborate with internal and external teams. Work independently on projects from start to finish, including planning and design of the customer premise equipment to support the telecommunications solution for the Telecommunication Infrastructure Replacement (TIR) project required to implement equipment and services deliverables for the FTI Network.

 

Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) Network Engineer responsibilities:

  • Planning and design of the customer premise equipment to support the telecommunications solution for the Telecommunication Infrastructure Replacement (TIR) project
  • Project managing the CPE design release and implementation schedule for over one thousand sites
  • Interface and coordinate with appropriate implementation engineering groups to ensure designs and implementations meet the project requirements and delivery dates
  • Maintain operational excellence of network systems and components during project execution
  • Monitor equipment and material inventory availability and provide accurate forecasting to procurement for purchase planning
  • Identify areas of opportunity for automation, process improvement and network optimization
  • Ability to obtain a FAA Public Trust clearance or a U.S. Government Security Clearance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to develop and follow detailed instructions and action plans
  • Ability to work in team environment and is self-directed and self-motivated
  • Understanding of Project management, capable of adhering to deadlines and completing tasks per project schedule
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software applications
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings and technical procedures
  • Understanding of the Telecommunications industry, including carrier services, provisioning terminology, CISCO routers and network infrastructure and IP technologies such as Pseudo Wire and Ethernet switching
  • Familiarity with leading network vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Fujitsu, Ciena, RAD
  • Familiarity with database modeling software such as MetaSolv
  • Familiarity in the following tools and software: AutoCAD, DICE, PDM, ClearQuest
  • CCNA Certification or equivalent Cisco equipment work experience
