Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off
Job Description: The Associate in Category Management – Travel will assist in development and implementation of corporate travel-related supplier sourcing strategies, ensuring efficient and cost-effective travel solutions for our organization. A successful Associate in Category Management will work with and influence cross functional teams, analyze supplier performance and travel data, identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies, and manage supplier relationships. Additionally, this role will contribute to the continuous improvement of travel operations.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Collect, analyze, and interpret travel spend and usage data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Assist in managing relationships with travel service providers, agencies, airlines, hotels, and car rental companies, ensuring high service levels and compliance with contracts
- Support the Travel Category Manager in negotiating and monitoring contracts to achieve favorable terms and compliance with agreements
- Assist in the development and implementation of category strategies in alignment with organizational goals, industry trends, and process improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of travel operations
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as Finance, Human Resources, Operations, and Global Business Shared Services to understand travel needs and ensure adherence to travel policies
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on travel spend, cost savings, and supplier performance to the Travel Category Manager and other key stakeholders
- Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with sector/segment teams, suppliers, key stakeholders, and category team members
Qualifications:
- To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Aviation management or related field or have completed their degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to make informed decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management capabilities
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
- Supplier or Customer interactions (internal or external)
- Excels in a team environment - developing relationships and sharing knowledge
