Job Description:
As a Systems Engineer Specialist in our IR Sensors business area, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of programs, helping solve some of our customers’ most difficult technical challenges. In this role, you will support our IR development and/or production programs. You may serve as the technical lead for a small program or work as part of a team performing technical planning, design, analysis, implementation, system integration, validation, and verification. Analyses are conducted at all levels, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.

Essential Functions:
· Systems engineering for EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infra-Red) sensor systems.
· Lead or support technical planning, system integration, validation, and verification activities in support of programs and development efforts.
· Judgment and Decision Making — Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution.
· Systems Analysis — Determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes / performance.
· Systems Evaluation — Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance relative to the goals of the system.
· Lead or support across system development lifecycle.
· Must have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Physics, or related Engineering discipline with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
· Demonstrated experience within the EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infra-Red) sensor field
· Demonstrated experience in a technical discipline supporting EO/IR sensor or component work
· Experience writing BOEs and supporting proposals
· Demonstrated experience in the architecture, specification, implementation, simulation, test, verification, validation, and debugging
· Demonstrated complex problem solving and decision making. Able to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions; able to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution
· Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well within and outside of the organization including customers, vendors, and leadership with minimal oversight
· Knowledge of military and/or NASA component specifications, design processes, and hardware test/verification procedures.
