Job Description:

As a Space Systems Engineer Specialist in guidance and control avionics for launch vehicle and space-based applications, you will have the opportunity to work various programs solving our customer’s most difficult technical challenges. You could support planning activities to address development activity processes and procedures. You could be the technical lead of the program team, perform technical planning, design, analysis, implementation, system integration, validation and verification. Analyses are performed at all levels to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Essential Functions:

  • Lead or be part of a team that completes technical planning, system integration, validation, and verification activities in support of programs and development efforts.
  • Systems Analysis
  • Systems Evaluation — Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance relative to the goals of the system.
  • Demonstrated experience with designing, developing, and/or testing
  • Demonstrated experience in the architecture, requirements development, implementation, simulation, test, verification, validation, and/or debugging
  • Demonstrated complex problem solving and decision making
  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Physics, or related Engineering discipline with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to gain a secret clearance 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with internal and/or external stakeholders
  • Prior systems engineering and digital design experience
  • Knowledge of military and/or NASA component specifications, design processes, and hardware test/verification procedures.
  • Experience with guidance and control avionics, including GPS receivers and data acquisition systems
  • Familiar with laboratory and test equipment
  • Hands-on experience with electronics integration, troubleshooting, and test methodologies
  • Active DoD Security Clearance
