Job Description:

 

As a Quality Engineer you will contribute to the success of the team, extended program teams and the business by driving continuous improvement within the organization. The individual is responsible for conducting comprehensive audits of the company's quality management systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer-specific requirements. Additionally, the role involves management of software quality systems and metrics to support and demonstrate the effectiveness of the company’s quality management system.

 

Essential Functions:

 

·         Understand risk and risk-management as an essential part of the quality management system.

·         Maintain internal audit management system for AS9100D, including processes, checklists, reports, and performance metrics.

·         Leads audit / inspection preparation and follow-up for AS9100D, and ISO17025 systems, resolution of audit and inspection findings, and liaise with auditing groups and inspectors through all stages of the audits, including development of effective corrective action plans.

·         Provide training and guidance to the organization on quality management system requirements and best practices as needed.

·         Development and maintenance of Quality PowerBI dashboards to aid in metric analysis to support and demonstrate the effectiveness of the company’s quality management system.

·         Owns and maintains Quality System processes included Internal/External Audits, Software Quality, and Quality metrics ensuring efficiency and compliance

·         Support the Quality Systems Manager in maintaining the integrity of the QMS and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

·         Utilize sense of urgency to act to prevent or correct problems with products and post-delivery defects.

·         Assist in process improvement and process problem solutions across the organization.

·         Must be a United States Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required

 

 Qualifications:

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related degree and 6 years of Quality Engineering experience, a Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of Quality Engineering experience or a combination of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree

·         Minimum of 6 years experience performing audits on quality systems, including Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor training

·         6 years or more experience with problem-solving tools such as 8D, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and CAPA.

·         Understanding of software development lifecycle and test lifecycle.

·         Ability to interpret requirements, specifications and interface documentation.

·         Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

·         Able to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

·         Aerospace or Defense Manufacturing experience

·         Lean Manufacturing and Green Belt Certification

·         AS9100 Lead Auditor certification; working familiarity of ISO9001, ISO17025, AS9104, MIL-STD or program specific requirements

·         Experience creating/developing PowerBI dashboards

·         Experience with 8D Problem Solving Methodology

·         A working familiarity of TipQA, PowerBI

·         ASQ® Certified Quality Engineer Certificate
