Job Description:

The individual is responsible for conducting comprehensive audits of the company's quality management systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with the AS9100D standard, applicable regulatory requirements, and customer-specific requirements. The role involves leading audit teams, preparing audit plans, reporting findings, and driving continuous improvement within the organization.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain internal audit management system for AS9100D, including processes, checklists, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Leads audit and inspection preparation for AS9100D, NADCAP, and ISO17025 systems, resolution of audit and inspection findings, and liaise with auditing groups and inspectors through all stages of the audits.
  • Analyze audit results, identify non-conformances, and work with department heads to develop effective corrective action plans.
  • Provide training and guidance to the organization on quality management system requirements and best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in quality management and auditing.
  • Support the Quality Systems Manager in maintaining the integrity of the QMS and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, Business, or a related field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Internal Auditor experience (AS9100 Std) or Lead Auditor training
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience performing audits on quality systems

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds to test benches or to carts for transport to other areas of the facility.
  • Ability to occasionally position self by climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Constantly operate a computer and read testing procedures off a monitor.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods.
  • Capability to move about inside lab, office, and manufacturing environments.

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • 5 years’ experience in quality or process engineering positions in a Defense or Aerospace company
  • AS9100D Lead Auditor certification
  • Knowledge of NADCAP and ISO17025
  • Experience with the 8D problem solving methodology
  • Knowledge in IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 a plus. 
  • Six Sigma and / or LEAN manufacturing certification a plus.
  • Technical writing of command media (e.g. work instructions, quality processes)
