Job Description:

 

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Semiconductor Development Engineering Manager at our Mason, OH. location.  As a Semiconductor Development Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the technical management of a team focused on the production of infrared focal plane arrays made with III-V semiconductor wafers.  You will drive innovative detector architectures while harmonizing processes flow to support the development of next generation products.  The development engineering team is responsible for the fabrication of the FPA’s, which includes diffusion, photolithography, etch, grind, deposition, wafer/die bond, inspection, saw, assembly, and test areas. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Lead implementation of policies and processes to meet business goals, including site specific design guidelines and standard work instruction.
  • Provide technical support and leadership to FPA development engineers
  • Facilitate the cross-pollination of best practices and drive process harmonization.
  • Lead the development of control plans with the process engineers
  • Provide regular feedback to the team members on performance and career development
  • Drive the metric adoption throughout the design cycle to track design and device performance.
  • Work in a cross functional team and with upper management to develop detailed project plans to ensure technical performance, schedule, and cost requirements are met for all key projects
  • Define and measure KPI’s and report on performance against organizational goals for yield and process capability
  • Comply with all company procedures including HazMat, LOTO, and safety.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences and 9+ years engineering experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing.   Graduate Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences and 7+ years engineering experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing.  In lieu of a degree, 13+ years engineering experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing.
  • Minimum 5 years of functional management or leadership team experience is desired. 
  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Experience with wafer processing and semiconductor equipment
  • A strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication techniques and an understanding of problem-solving tools.

  • Strong leadership skills and desire to develop others
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
