We are seeking an Engineer (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical) to work at our space and sensors division.
The role will involve being the primary manufacturing technical support for our space manufacturing programs.  Will be responsible for support of all assembly and build processes.  Must be able to work in a highly regulated build space with complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.  Support for other electro-optical products from a build and assembly perspective is also expected. Ability to manage projects including capital procurement and installation. Will be working within cross functional teams.

Essential Functions:

  • Generate build and assembly instruction utilizing complex torquing, staking and other assembly technics
  • Support the technical needs of the production staff for electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Responsible for designing / developing manufacturing tools and processes
  • Work cross functionally with manufacturing, quality and our design community
  • Communicate and perform production readiness reviews with customer involvement
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated environment
  • High level of independence and personal accountability to meet company and personal deadlines including capital procurement
  • Time management

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical/Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace Engineering or Engineering technologies. Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience Executing Production Readiness Reviews.
  • Procurement support and installation of capital equipment.
  • Strong Assembly Skills
    • Fastner Torquing and Staking
    • Assembly troubleshooting
    • Identifying process improvements/reductions in process time

    • Electronic Schematics/Troubleshooting
    • Reading Drawings and GD&T
    • Value Steam Mapping, RCCA, Pareto Charts, etc.
    • Front Loading
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Minitab

  • Experience reading schematics and troubleshooting electronic assemblies

  • Experience with SPC data and use of Pareto charts to monitor program health
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge is a plus (White Belt / Green Belt / Black Belt)
  • 6S knowledge is a plus
