Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Lead, Continuous Improvement professional to join our Space & Sensors team. This individual will work across all functional disciplines of the organization. Actively lead, resolve team issues, coach and guide cross-functional project teams in the application of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies. Serve as a technical resource for improvement teams, i.e. Provide support by analyzing data, change management, project management and project implementation, lead Continuous Improvement (CI) events (Kaizens, brainstorming, value stream mapping, etc...). Provide hands-on team guidance, support, and coaching to all roles and functions, to advance CI maturity at a sustainable pace continually enhancing our improvement tool set and methodologies. The ideal candidate is passionate about leading change, driving results, and promoting a culture of improvement.
Essential Functions:
- Lean expert or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification
- Experienced in leading and working with cross-organizational teams
- This position requires a self-starter with an engaging style; solid influencing and facilitation skills who will develop relationships and build on a collaborative work environment
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and ability to train on methodology
- Demonstrated working knowledge with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Develop and continuously improve processes based on industry best practices and internal teams’ experience and learning
- Ability to facilitate and work effectively with functional teams of all levels
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Action oriented and ability to make decisions.
- Proactively analyzes manufacturing data to identify opportunities and implement process efficiency and quality improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
- Must be able to obtain security clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
· Self-Starter with comprehensive knowledge and skills associated with manufacturing and/or inspection of aerospace products and ability to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact with minimal supervision
· Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and/or other quality standards
· Direct experience with fabrication, assembly, test, and inspection processes commonly used to produce aerospace components and sub-assemblies
· Familiarity with 8D analysis or similar tools to determine root causes
· Proficient in MS Office, business analytics software such as PowerBI, and tools like Microsoft Visio and Minitab.
