Job Description:

 

In this position, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and measuring communications that reflect the vision and strategic direction of the Defense Electronics business sector. The scope includes both internal and external communications leveraging a variety of channels to reach key audiences. The role requires exceptional writing abilities, a strong understanding of aerospace and defense, and the capacity to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging content. In addition, this position will evaluate and synthesize communications measures to increase impact and derive insights.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with the sector Vice President and General Manager and the senior leadership team to develop, implement and measure an integrated internal and external communications program aligned to the business strategy.
  • Create thoughtful, innovative and engaging communications content to reach a variety of internal and external audiences. Develop key messages and materials that align with our company's mission, values and strategic goals.
  • Partner with Business Development on marketing communications campaigns to support keep-sold, capture and growth initiatives.
  • Support the deployment of change initiatives by developing internal communications for the sector Vice President and General Manager to educate, inspire and motivate, advising on local preferences, global best practices and culture.
  • Write and create the sector Vice President and General Manager’s communications tactics including speeches, presentations, articles, op-eds, thought leadership, editorials, social media, reports and executive correspondence.
  • Conduct comprehensive research to develop metrics for the sector’s communications program. Monitor aerospace and defense industry trends, emerging technologies and other pertinent topics to support communication objectives.
  • Review and edit written content for accuracy, clarity and consistency in tone and style.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Manage multiple writing projects under tight deadlines, adapting to changing priorities as needed.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including marketing, public relations and subject matter experts, to gather information and insights.
  • Willingness to travel.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to travel 20%

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry highly desired
  • Experience in communicating complex topics to a general audience
  • Experience in corporate communications, journalism or military public affairs
