Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking an Senior Manager, Operations to join our manufacturing facility in Malabar, FL. The Senior Manager will be responsible for the safety, cost, quality, delivery, and productivity of the F-35 TR2 Production manufacturing team and will report to the Director of Operations.  This position will work closely with multiple functional areas to optimize material flow, equipment, and workforce requirements within the area to meet or exceed daily business objectives. The Senior Manager will provide leadership to a team of Product Line Managers and their touch labor teams across multiple shifts. The focus will be on working with other departments to drive continuous improvement, remove waste and cost from their product lines, and improve material flows within the manufacturing process.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Lead and manage the team to achieve program production targets within budget and on schedule.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company and program strategic goals.
  • Oversee the production process, identifying opportunities for improvement in efficiency and output.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies, including ITAR, EAR, and CUI guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Program Management, to optimize overall performance.
  • Manage resource allocation, including equipment and personnel, to maximize productivity.
  • Monitor and report on operational performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles throughout the division.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to the operations team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Electronics Manufacturing experience
  • Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or manage across the function.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance strongly preferred
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with MES, MRP systems/tools
