Job Description:

  • Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors products through the complete production cycle to meet delivery requirements.
  • Advise management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers.
  • Ensures availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the development and optimization of production schedules to meet customer demand while maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs.
  • Oversee the coordination of production activities across multiple departments and facilities, ensuring seamless workflow and resource utilization.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data to forecast demand, identify potential bottlenecks, and recommend strategic solutions to optimize production processes.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align production planning strategies with overall business objectives and goals.
  • Implement advanced production planning techniques, such as lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or advanced scheduling algorithms, to improve operational performance.
  • Mentor and coach junior production planners, providing guidance on best practices, problem solving techniques, and professional development opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production planning systems, processes, and capabilities.
  • Act as a liaison between production, supply chain, and other departments to facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration.
  • Represent the production planning team in meetings with management, presenting analysis findings, progress updates, and recommendations for improvement.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Planning typically obtained through education combined with experience.
  • Must have a strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and experience with material requisitioning, purchasing, stocking, and inventory control.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Lean Manufacturing (or Six Sigma) experience
  • IPC-A-610 certification or equivalent quality background
  • Previous experience in Aerospace Technology
  • MES and MRP experience
  • Knowledge of Kinaxis and Power BI Tools
  • Capable of generating complex spreadsheets and reports
  • Working knowledge of Control, Cognos and Kinaxis
  • Strong working Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills. Deadline driven.
  • Knowledge and application of Lean tools and principles
  • Ability to apply capacity planning concepts & prioritize work assignments for operators
