Job Description:

This position supports a 4/10, 1st shift schedule and is responsible for initial, in-process, and final inspections on panel, module, and chassis-level assemblies supporting mission-critical aerospace and defense programs, including TR-3 programs and F-35-related hardware. The Quality Technical will evaluate assemblies for compliance using engineering drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, and contractual quality requirements. Responsible for performing inspections, tests and/or audits of purchased parts, units, materials, equipment, panel/module level assemblies and quality control programs to specifications. Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units, test setups, or systems for in process or final assemblies. Inspects and may perform minor rework on defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Maintains support documentation and performs sampling and testing of incoming components, raw materials, and build of assemblies. Reviews and reports performance data. Ensure raw materials, in-process and finished products meet company and test standards. Determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection. May interface with customer quality representatives or suppliers.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Inspect electrical and mechanical hardware to determine if products meet acceptance or rejection criteria as identified in applicable work procedures.
  • Verify geometric dimensioning and tolerancing against engineering drawings.
  • Visually inspect hardware using microscopes and magnifying lens.
  • Utilize measurement devices/tools such as calipers, height gauges, optical comparator, micrometers, scales and dimensional measurement systems.
  • Document non-conformances and photograph discrepancies.
  • Communicate with Engineers to determine product disposition.
  • Communicate with Product Line Managers to determine daily workflow.
  • Perform assigned surveillance audits.
  • Verify and record configuration and present to Document Control and/or the Customer/ Government Representative(s).
  • Ability to obtain US Government clearance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires minimal job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Communicates with contacts typically within the team on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
  • Work consists of tasks that are routine. Work is structured within identified boundaries and procedures. Follows established processes to complete tasks. Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution.
  • One-year certificate in a quality related field from college or technical school desired.
  • ANSI/J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC-620 latest revisions and ESD Electrostatic Discharge preferred.
