We are seeking a highly motivated Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) Manager to lead supplier quality strategies across complex aerospace and defense programs in Malabar FL. In this role, you will guide a team of Supplier Quality Engineers in advancing supplier capabilities, ensuring compliance with DoD and aerospace standards, and driving innovative approaches to supplier performance and resiliency. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment where your leadership directly supports the delivery of reliable solutions for our customers and the warfighter.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Supplier Quality Engineering team with a focus on innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner across engineering, operations, and supply chain functions to define and implement supplier quality strategies that strengthen product performance and program execution.
  • Drive supplier approval, onboarding, and development using advanced quality tools, data-driven decision making, and risk-based thinking.
  • Champion proactive quality assurance approaches, including APQP, AS9145, PPAP, and predictive analytics to reduce variability and improve supply chain robustness.
  • Lead supplier audits, surveillance activities, and First Article Inspections (FAI) to ensure compliance with technical, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee supplier root cause and corrective action (RCCA) processes, ensuring systemic improvements and leveraging lessons learned across programs.
  • Provide executive-level visibility into supplier risks, performance trends, and recovery actions; influence key stakeholders to drive timely solutions.
  • Innovate supplier engagement by integrating digital tools, lean principles, and collaborative development practices that accelerate supplier resiliency.
  • Represent Supplier Quality in program reviews, government/customer audits, and supplier development forums.

 

Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9145, ISO 9001, and DoD quality requirements.
  • Expertise in APQP, PPAP, SPC, FAI, and supplier risk management.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with DCMA, DoD customers, and major aerospace primes.
  • Advanced leadership skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and inspire across global supply chains.
  • Proven track record of driving innovation in supplier quality management through digital transformation, analytics, and process optimization.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or similar); advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading and directing experienced professionals, lower-level supervisors, or associate managers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within and outside the organization, including with customers or vendors.
  • Experience in developing new concepts or standards and conducting extensive investigations to understand root causes of problems
  • Proven track record in establishing operational plans that contribute to the achievement of job function results.
  • Ability to lead, direct, and review the work of direct reports who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.
