Job Description:
This position is expected to work autonomously to meet goals and deliverables for product cell. Responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical and/or optical areas. Assists in the design, construction, calibration, of complex systems. works from schematics, repair manuals, engineering drawings, and both written and verbal instructions to perform a wide variety of tasks. They operate complex machines or systems such as the Air Vac system DRS-25 and DRS-27, as well as related equipment, and are responsible for conducting tests or experiments while reporting data in prescribed engineering formats. Flexibility is key, as they are available to shift between processes and support other programs as business needs arise. Consistently leading team meetings with a positive attitude, they provide task guidance, prioritize rework activities to ensure delivery commitments are met, and serve as a resource for other employees by offering on-the-job training when necessary. Frequently acting as a team lead and recognized as a subject matter expert on their current program, they also aid engineering teams in designing complex rework processes and instructions. Comfortable working under a low power microscope, they are responsible for performing complex functions associated with all mechanical assembly operations—including assisting engineers in setup and calibration tasks, performing rework, and conducting quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Their duties also include gathering data for engineering evaluations, utilizing sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate complex operating data, and making on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. Additionally, they determine and may help develop methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes.
Essential Functions:
- DRS-25, DRS-27, AVX Milling, X-ray proficiency
- Subject-matter expert reworking bottom-terminated components
- Proficiency bonding
- Proficiency in solder masking
- Specialty CCA Rework Processes
- Specialty CCA Equipment Handling
- Subject-matter expert modifying CCA’s using complex tools
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Prior experience in Aerospace and Defense and Electronics Assemblies
- Prior IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification(s)
- Prior experience in IPC and/or J-STD certified operations
- Prior relevant experience in assembly and rework of electronics assemblies
