Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Sr. Specialist Software Engineer with focus on system test, and automation. Our team supports mission critical VIDA Infrastructure Communications and Portable/Mobile radios used to support first responders and military personnel on evolving LMR/LTE/WIFI/IOT and Hybrid Communication Architectures. Essential Functions:
- Contibuting member of an agile scrum team with focus on sytem test and test automation.
- Perform requirements analysis, test analysis, test development, and system verification with scrum
- Create both manual and automated tests as required for new features and regression testing
- Perform manual and automation feature and regression testing on new software & hardware for terminals, and network infrastructure equipment and systems as well as servers and AWS applications.
- Work with the automation system architect for common automation framework, projects and automation tools.
- Work with system architects, development and other cross-functional teams to ensure effective and timely software system integration and verification
- Assist development in designing and implementing effective software testability into new and existing products supporting continual process/quality improvement.
- Contribute to evolution of automation platforms and strategies with an eye towards 6-Sigma improvements in accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency
- Create and maintain test and engineering related work products for various projects.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in software engineering.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Orchestration/Automation tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, TestComplete, Test Stand, shell scripting, Python
- Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022 operating system knowledge
- RedHat Linux 7, 8 and 9 operating system knowledge
- Containerization, System administration, and Microsoft Active Directory knowledge
- IP network understanding, Cisco switch, router and firewall knowledge
- Experience with Wireshark and simulation/emulation/loading tools a plus.
- Software quality, automation development, and Scripting knowledge
- Experience with testing platforms and application software
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and/or software issues
- Ability to communicate both written and orally with cross functional teams
