Job Description:
The Sr Manager of Supplier Quality and Development is responsible for leading a supplier quality engineering team to drive quality improvement initiatives, with a focus on supplier quality. S/he will also be responsible for driving quality strategies to develop a proactive and preventative culture of quality, and ensuring the Quality Management System provides products and services that meet the needs of our customers and business with on-time delivery of quality parts. Effective collaboration with procurement, manufacturing, design engineering and quality assurance is critical to the role. Duties will include developing, maintaining, monitoring, and issue resolution to ensure compliant parts, support New Product Introduction for product development and launch. This position is in Londonderry, NH.
Essential Functions:
- Support the delivery of high quality, cost competitive products to support business demand.• Provide leadership to Supplier Quality Engineers and collaborate closely with the Receiving Inspection Manager and technicians to ensure supplier quality performance and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and project management for supplier development, transitions, and outsourcing initiatives
- Develop and execute on a strategy to organize, direct and report on all strategic supplier quality-related activities for IVS.
- Work with new and existing suppliers, across the full product lifecycle, to develop, implement, and maintain technical quality assurance systems and activities, to include SPC, Quality Plans, Control Plans, and FMEAs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor supplier performance initiatives, including supplier management, supplier certification, process improvements, supplier forums, audits, and selection activities.
- Work cross-functionally with IVS Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations Quality to resolve issues, drive corrective actions, and enhance supplier performance.
- Initiate targeted Zero Defect Plans with suppliers to improve overall quality.
- Manage Supplier Corrective Action Request program to ensure consistency in handling corrective actions by strategic suppliers
- Oversee supplier change requests (PCNs) to guarantee proper approval and documentation practices for any process, material, or tooling modifications, working in alignment with the Functional CCB.
- Develop and implement supplier surveillance program for critical suppliers.
- Identify, develop or maintain supplier quality KPI’s supporting standard reporting business cadences, including comprehensive Return to Green plans.
- Translate engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements for outsourced finished products.
- Perform deviation investigations into quality issues arising from supplier activities.
- Responsible for ensuring that effective up-to-date supplier Quality Assurance documentation, procedures and specifications are maintained.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and cost reduction with existing and new strategic suppliers.
- Ability to lead ead the application of structured problem-solving tools (root cause analysis, 8D, DMAIC, VSM, PDCA, CAPA) and manage FIAR failure analysis activities across systems/commodities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent
- Experience embedding advance quality concepts into New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Proficient with applied statistics in manufacturing
- Optical and/or Electronics Manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Familiarity with IEC 60812 (FMEA) and MIL‑STD‑882E (System Safety), or equivalent standards for other industries
- Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Zero Defect Planning (ZDP)
- Previous experience utilizing ETQReliance, Expo Quality Collaboration, and CostPoint
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP planning software.
- Lean and Six Sigma experience & certification preferred.
- Proficiency in risk management tools (FMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, 8D problem solving)
- Understanding and application of domestic and international regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for data-driven decision making
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for supplier engagement.
