Job Description:

We are seeking a hands-on Metrology Engineer to join our Quality Engineering organization. This new role will be the primary operator of our industrial CT scanner, supporting both production Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts and incoming part inspections. This role will be responsible for designing and 3D printing custom fixtures for automating inspection tasks. The Metrology Engineer will also generate standard operating procedures, produce detailed reports, and present findings to internal teams.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary operator of the CT scanner, including setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for CT scanning and related inspection processes.
  • Split responsibilities between automation (Python scripting for inspection routines and data analysis) and failure analysis (root cause and corrective action investigations).
  • Design and 3D print custom fixturing to support part inspection and scanning.
  • Perform dimensional analysis using CT data and as needed, CMM equipment.
  • Generate clear, detailed inspection reports and present findings to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve defects and support continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant field and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with 2 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with CMM equipment and other metrology tools.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for fixture and tooling design.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
  • Strong GD&T background
