Job Description:
Seeking an experienced professional with practical knowledge of Integration & Test experience with wireless and radio frequency components, products and end to end systems. The successful candidate should work under moderate supervision to set objectives within their work area supporting lab management, technical requirements development support, updating software/firmware configurations and be responsible for test planning, test cases development, and executing noted test procedures in a quick reaction, engineering oriented environment to achieve operational targets thus impacting departmental results. The engineer will also design, build, integrate and test our systems using manual and/or automated testing capabilities.


The Engineering candidate will collaborate with the broader engineering team from various disciplines such as electrical, mechanical and software engineering to identify and capture defects, troubleshoot and resolve testing issues, and ensure conformance of products to specifications. This position will require excellent critical thinking skills to debug, analyze and verify products that meet functional and performance requirements.

Essential Functions: 

  • Responsible for the staging, configuration, and documentation of hardware and software systems under test.
  • Identify test equipment needs and manage preventative maintenance cycles of each to support system builds and create supporting documentation to include drawing tree, parts list, and interconnect diagrams.
  • Perform functional testing of electronic communications systems.
  • Update test procedures, drawing trees, parts lists, and interconnect diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot failures of components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems.
  • Complete test report documentation, procedures, and manufacturing build documents.
  • Responsible for the operation, verification, and maintenance of test sets and test equipment.
  • Identify, define, and address general issues within the immediate task area.
  • Contribute to software integration and tests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Background in electronics testing – knowledge of test process flow and execution.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-810 testing.
  • Experience with 5S methodologies desirable.
  • Ability to move and facilitate test racks and test equipment to support test set-ups in various work environments.
  • Experience handling ESD-sensitive components.
  • Experience with RF test equipment.
  • Willingness to work overtime, shift work, extended shifts, weekends, or holidays as necessary.
  • Experience with thermal testing.
  • Familiarity with dynamic shaker controllers and accelerometers.
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes and other precision electrical measuring equipment.
  • Ability to lead small teams of engineers and technicians.
