Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Lead is subject matter expert for their area of responsibility and leads through their complete understanding of all operations, work instructions, test, capacity, and labor requirements. Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including evaluating, troubleshooting, performing rework, and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
Essential Functions:
- Understand and maintain commitments to the production plan.
- Develop daily targets and clearly communicate the plan to all subordinates and team members.
- Monitor daily throughput and address any shortfalls in the daily production plan.
- Update and maintain the Andon Board, and attend daily production standup meetings.
- Monitor and communicate yields throughout all processes under your control to the Operations Leader, Manufacturing Engineer, and Quality Engineer.
- Ensure all subordinates are properly trained and certified; collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to provide proper training and inform the Operations Leader of any performance issues.
- Conduct daily walkthroughs to inspect all work areas for cleanliness. Identify any issues, concerns, or areas for improvement, and work with the team to resolve them. Assist the team in adhering to 5S and FOD protocols, and serve as an exemplary role model.
- Continually review and enforce the use and maintenance of work instructions, routers, logs, scrap tickets, training matrices, calibration requirements, and company procedures.
- Ensure all required materials are available, and inform the material handler and Operations Leader of any shortfalls.
- Assess and complete scrap tickets daily for processing, and communicate with the team to obtain the required signatures.
- Maintain and make readily available production chemicals and stockroom supplies used during the build process.
- Acts as a mentor to lower-level peers and provides guidance on tasks.
- Ability to engage with ME, QE, SQE and effectively communicate findings, improvement opportunities.
- Prepare for cycle counts and inventory per the Operations Leader's direction.
Basic Qualifications:
- 
High School Diploma or equivalent with 8 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 4 years prior experience 
Preferred Qualifications:
• Computer skills required (Costpoint, MEData, Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, Scanning Document, etc.)
• Ability to communicate effectively with others even in a demanding environment.
• Quality conscious with a great attention to deal.
• Positive attitude, proactive approach and flexible with changes in production.
