Job Description:

 

The Manufacturing Technician B is a developing individual contributor responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving manufacturing and rework issues across production operations. This role operates with general supervision, executes work across multiple related work instructions, and serves as a technical resource to Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams. The Technician B Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations, supports process improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with quality and documentation requirements

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test requirements.
  • Execute work across multiple related and referenced work instructions (assembly, test), ensuring proper sequencing, compliance, and documentation.
  • Interpret work instruction intent and identify gaps, ambiguities, or inefficiencies; escalate findings to Manufacturing Engineering or Quality as appropriate.
  • Determine when units require escalation to Quality, rework cells, or dispositioned operations, ensuring proper routing and documentation.
  • Identify potential part nonconformances and escalate issues to Quality Engineering and Supplier Quality Engineering.
  • Recommend process, fixture, tooling, or work instruction improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Production leadership to resolve issues and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain compliance with all quality system requirements, including documentation integrity, training requirements, and controlled production conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and level of the role.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment that involves handling chemicals, adhesives, and solvents, performing tasks that may involve prolonged standing or sitting, repetitive hand motions, the use of hand tools, microscopes, test equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE), while adhering to ESD and safety requirements. Ability to lift and move materials or assemblies within standard manufacturing limits.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

 

 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience in the manufacturing/testing of laser-related products.
  • Familiarity with the use of oscilloscopes.
  • Experience recommending process, fixture, tooling, or work instruction improvements.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 or similar regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test requirements.
