Job Description:

 

L3Harris is seeking a Manufacturing Technician C to join our team. This team member is responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including evaluating, troubleshooting, performing rework, and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment
  • Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process
  • Understand all operations WI’s (assembly, test, & rework)
  • Review all suspected failures per QC WI-8608
  • Perform training and provide clarifications to P/F criteria
  • Review Unit related issues evaluated per WI criteria & specifications
  • Review station issues and escalate to TPM tech
  • Escalate potential part non conformances to Quality & SQE
  • Disposition/Data Correct systems that don’t need to enter the Quality Clinic (IE. Needs troubleshooting, non-standard rework, or unknown condition)
  • Move failures to QC, rework cells, or dispositioned operation
  • Identify failure trends and improvements and submit PIM tickets
  • Process improvement identification
  • Fixtures creation or refurbishment identification
  • Participate in a variety of meetings, committees and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve issues and maintains specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies

 

Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 0-2 years prior experience 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Basic Station Troubleshooting Knowledge
  • Knowledge and some experience identifying process, fixture, WI improvements
  • Ability to mentor lower-level peers and provides guidance on tasks
  • Ability to engage with the operators/techs and effectively communicate/train
  • Ability to make recommendations for process improvements
  • Ability to engage with ME, QE, SQE and effectively communicate findings, improvement opportunities
  • Ability to engage with production leadership to identify and correct training gaps
  • Ability to identify and reduce waste
