Job Description:

Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management. May manage projects or processes with general supervision. Communicate with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. Recommends enhancements to systems and processes. Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads development of manufacturing assembly strategies for new products, including process design and development, process documentation, and fixture design and development
  • Plans and supports the build and modification of mechanical and electronics systems including assembly method/work instruction generation, tooling design support, material/process development, facilities/equipment planning, implementation of design changes, and resolution of manufacturing, quality, and reliability issues.
  • Lead and participate in root cause and corrective action process.
  • Participates in general factory support activities: Lean Huddles, continuous improvement initiatives, failure investigations, and audits.
  • Uses lean principles, process technology, and automation to continuously improve the manufacturing environments driving cost leadership, world class quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Partners with Engineering, Quality and Continuous Improvement to integrate process integrity methods such as FMEAs and Statistical Process Control (SPC) as a daily way of life.
  • Provides strong written and oral communications within and outside functional group and outside the organization as required to drive solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Degree in Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or similar field.
  • IPC training and certification.
  • Manufacturing experience in the assembly and test of complex electronics, optics and/or electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of component level troubleshooting of electronic circuit boards, and electronics testing processes.
  • Experience reading schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated track record working in cross-functional teams and influencing organizational change.
  • Demonstrated experience / certification in Lean principles, Six Sigma, mistake proofing, etc.
