Job Description:
- Lead Quality projects to ensure internal, customer, regulatory and 3rd party requirements are defined measured and continuously improved. Lead root cause investigations to identify effective corrective action initiatives which address product and process non-conformances and compliance gaps. Align cross-functionally on initiatives to ensure quality is built into the design and processes of current and future products. Drive quality execution and interact with Program Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering personnel to maintain high quality deliveries of an existing product line.
Essential Functions:
- Proactively monitor, analyze, report and participate in the improvement of process and product performance employing proven Six Sigma methodologies.
- Lead failure analysis and drive effective root cause and corrective action efforts using complex problem solving methods to drive the development of technical solutions.
- Identify and lead opportunities to improve the manufacturability and quality of products to drive Zero Defect Plans (ZDP), reduce customer escapes, and drive Quality into the process.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to recommend Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for ongoing production performance.
- Verify and validate product and processes, confirmation of conformance. Review and verify applicable contractual/customer requirements and ensure these are known and translated, as warranted, into operational plans and test procedures.
- Participate in the verification, validation and acceptance of proposed product design and process changes.
- Participate in the review and disposition of nonconforming product.
- Represents and communicates with the organization when interfacing with Customers and their agents (DCMA) throughout the production phase of their programs.
- As required, support the training, mentoring and coaching of lab and inspection personnel in the technical requirements of product.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant field and at least 9 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with 7 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Experience in lean manufacturing and working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems is highly desired.
- Experience working with DCMA and DoD contract requirements.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Proficient in SQL Minitab or similar statistical software, and Microsoft Visio
- Strong statistical skills including 8D, DOE, SPC, PFMEA, and regression analysis.
