Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Inspector C (Receiving Inspection) who will b responsible for performing inspections, tests and/or audits of purchased parts, units, materials, equipment, panel/module level assemblies and quality control programs to specifications.
Essential Functions:

Perform precision mechanical inspections from dimensioned drawings using calipers, micrometers, surface plate, height gages, gage blocks, gage pins, optical comparator, toolmakers microscope, coordinate measuring machine, and other standard inspection equipment.

Conduct visual inspections of electronic assemblies, molding, and mechanical components using microscopes & magnifiers.

Perform and review first article inspections and generate detailed reports when required.

Identify equipment needs for jobs requiring new or custom metrology tools.

Initiate NMR (Material Nonconformances) within Electronic QMS

Accurately maintain records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.

Communicate discrepant findings verbally and via written discrepancy reports to Supplier Quality Engineers/Technicians (SQE/SQT).

Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to support SQE/SQT when requested.

Identify Dock to Stock (DTS) candidates per established procedures and present nominations to SQE/SQT.

Independently perform source inspection at local suppliers, as assigned.

Support SQE/SQT with routine supplier audits, when required.

Uphold the values of integrity, excellence, and respect in all professional interactions and quality assurance activities.

Work closely with buyers, planners, design engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and program leadership to maintain high-quality supplier relations.

Foster strong communication with internal and external teams to drive process improvements.

Support Cross Training (Mentor Engagement) for other Inspectors, as assigned.

Engage in audit participation and ensure supplier compliance with quality standards.
Qualifications:
-
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior inspection experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior inspection experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
-
1st shift with the flexibility to work 2nd shift.

Experience maintaining records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.

IPC-A-610 Certification.
-
Hexagon CMM certification (PC-DMIS software, or Equivalent).
-
Keyence Vision system programming experience.
-
Optical lens inspection experience (MIL and ISO Standard Training).
