Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team. The Equipment Technician maintains and improves availability, performance, and quality of electro-optical-mechanical assembly, inspection, and test equipment. The equipment ranges from basic/manual to complex/automated and involves environmental controls, electro-optical-mechanical systems, and fastener/adhesive/sealant applications.
Essential Functions:
- Works autonomously on assignments requiring judgment and initiative using knowledge and experience to resolve issues, mentors lower level peers, provides guidance, and makes recommendations for solutions
- Perform preventive and corrective equipment maintenance
- Maintain equipment records in a computerized maintenance management system
- Develop equipment preventive maintenance procedures and troubleshooting guides
- Maintain replacement parts lists and physical parts inventories
- Set up preventive maintenance schedules
- Determine primary failure modes and mechanisms of equipment, predictive measurements, and deterioration inspections
- Communicates within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement, and make recommendations
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years relevant experience in the maintenance of electro-optical-mechanical equipment, manufacturing engineering support, and computerized maintenance management systems or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Support individual contributor, able to work under limited supervision with initiative autonomously
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- Electronics background with proficiency in electrical troubleshooting
- Data gathering and basic data analysis capabilities
- Electro-optical-mechanical equipment, concepts and functions
- Circuit theory and wiring schematics
