Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex machinery and equipment. This individual contributor should be able to work under limited supervision with initiative autonomously.This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Essential Functions:

  • The primary responsibility will be to assemble and wire custom test equipment. 
  • The candidate will also need to troubleshoot and repair equipment as necessary. 
  • Skills to include wiring, soldering, basic circuit design and debug, as well as using hand tools and power tools to fabricate and assemble equipment.
  • Specifying and ordering materials and components as necessary.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electro-mechanical equipment and systems, including motors, sensors, control systems, and machinery.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to understand equipment specifications and repair procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to design and implement modifications or upgrades to existing systems.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Provide technical support and training to other team members as needed.
  • Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment.
  • Acts as a mentor to lower-level peers and provides guidance on tasks.
  • Engage with the operators/techs and effectively communicate/train.
  • May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise.
  • Makes recommendations for process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician or similar role.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical systems. Including but not limited to: motors, sensors, control systems, and machinery.
  • Experience with multimeter, power supplies, and oscilloscope. 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Technical school for electrical or mechanical related education
  • Station Troubleshooting Knowledge
  • Knowledge and experience identifying process, fixture, work instruction improvements
  • Effective in managing time to support all work cells in production line
  • Ability to engage with ME, QE, SQE and effectively communicate findings, improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to engage with production leadership to identify and correct training gaps
  • Ability to identify and reduce waste (8 Wastes)
